Its hard to convey how wonderful this place is! Angela and Martin were so welcoming to our family. We loved the bedrooms and flexibility of the dining/kitchen spaces inside and out. The pool was perfectly beautiful and in a truly relaxing setting.
Our toddler loved the shallow steps of the pool and how much space he had to explore! Cortijo Carranque is a rare and unique find , owned by a very kind accommodating couple.

We booked online, and we were not disappointed. Our visit began with a warm welcome from Angela who showed us around and Martin giving us a history of the property and recounting with photos, their wonderful reforming of an almost total ruin and what a lovely job they have done. The cortijo is a very tranquil place. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished with ensuite bathrooms and basic toiletries. There are plentiful seating areas within brick arched terraces, original stone walls, tiles, plants and a water feature. We were left to ourselves for our retreat as we had a programme planned but in the evening, we were invited into the small Chapel where Angela led us into a serene time of quiet reflection and gentle music in preparation for sleep. Our meals were taken in either the kitchen dining room or in the outdoor kitchen/dining area. Food was generally buffet style consisting of meats, cheeses, eggs, and salad with cooked dishes at main meal with simple dessert. Angela's cooking is very tasty. There is also a guest kitchen for the making of tea or coffee or small snacks should you wish. The cortijo also has a beautiful pool, especially useful in summer months and is set in a lovely garden with plenty of sunbeds, swing and other seating. Set in countryside, there are other houses nearby but neighbours do not affect the peace you will encounter here. Additionally, walking in the countryside is possible. We enjoyed our retreat immensely, recommend our hosts and certainly plan to return!

We had a lovely restful weekend together with friends at Cortijo Carranque! Such a beautiful and welcoming staff and place! Angela and Martin so wonderfully received us and saw to our every need! We enjoyed the delicious meals that Angela, Rafaela and Estér made, some food including locally grown produce! There is space to gather together outside and inside. There is a sweet little chapel to inspire reflection, meditation and prayer. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and each have a private bath ensuite. The grounds are beautiful and the architecture so interesting! You wish the walls could talk, but Martin can give you some fun and interesting tidbits of the history! We went for walks around the picturesque countryside after our evening meals and after lunch some of us enjoyed some time in the beautiful pool! We will definitely be back soon!
